Martin Brodeur
So Brodeur is out 4 months he needs to have surgery on his elbow!
Martin Brodeur could be out of the New Jersey Devils nets for a while - perhaps as long as four months.
The Devils have scheduled a 3 p.m. conference call to discuss the extent of the left elbow injury suffered by Brodeur on Saturday night in a 6-1 win over Atlanta. Brodeur will undergo surgery to repair the distal bicep in his left elbow, an operation which could cost the ironman goaltender significant time on the sidelines.
Brodeur did not dress Monday in a 2-0 loss to the Buffalo Sabres, marking the first time in 57 games - dating back to last season - that he did not start. It also marked only the 21st time in his career that he did not dress for a game.
The four-time Vezina Trophy winner had an MRI and x-rays today. He is seven wins short of tying Patrick Roy's all-time record for wins by an NHL goaltender at 551. He had played every minute of the Devils first 10 games this season before being injured in his crease at 6:38 of the second period Saturday.
Re: Martin Brodeur
That's a BAD blow man.
He won't be the same when he comes back...he might break the record hopefully
